Fracture Care
Knox Orthopaedics provides
both inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic surgical
services. An example of a common surgery performed
is an ORIF (open reduction internal fixation) of a
complex fracture requiring the broken bones to be realigned
surgically and held in place with screws, pins, or
plates. ORIFs are performed at the hospital.
Knox Orthopaedics uses the surgical
facilities of Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain
Home as well as the facilities of Mountain Home Surgery
Center, an outpatient surgery center, for procedures
that do not require admission to a hospital. Initial
postoperative checkups are scheduled through the hospital’s
recovery room if the procedure was performed at the
hospital, and further checkups, including rehabilitation
therapy, are scheduled through our office. All postoperative
checkups following outpatient surgery are scheduled
through our office.
